Mike the Pike Productions is a media holdings company with a focus that includes Feature Films, Television, New Media and Graphic Novels. Overall, MTP projects are ‘Mainstream Independent’, combining a well-structured vision with top-tier talent; challenging current standards while maintaining mass appeal.

MTP chooses its endeavors carefully and projects are initiated when commercial prospects are reasonably assured and investment risk is mitigated. As well, partners take hands-on responsibility for personally evaluating content, budgets, historical data, current trends, branding and talent with a passion and focus for the creative process on everything we do.

Mark B. Newbauer


Mark B. NewbauerMark B. Newbauer graduated from the renowned film and producer’s track at Columbia College Chicago as well as The Second City Chicago Training Center where he was a writer, director and performer. His debut short, Dreamkiller, is an ambitious take on Sirhan Sirhan and the events leading up to the RFK assassination. Dreamkiller was winner of “Best of the Fest” at the 1999 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. Newbauer also worked in the Talent and Literary departments at The Gage Group, an agency with offices in New York and Los Angeles.

After more than a decade in the entertainment industry, Newbauer took his passion for both the art of filmmaking and the business sense necessary for a thriving brand, and launched Mike The Pike Productions, a full-spectrum entertainment firm with a focus in Feature Films and Graphic Novel Entertainment.

Recently, Newbauer optioned the film rights to the World Fantasy Award-winning werewolf thriller, George R.R. Martin’s The Skin Trade, and is currently producing White Space, an edge-of-your-seat, effects driven sci-fi thriller.    Mark B. Newbauer at IMDB

James DiPrima


Mr. DiPrima holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska.  His career includes 40 years of finance and accounting in both the public and private sectors. He has held various positions with start-up companies.  He has served as chief executive officer of MBD Midwest, a holding company for national pack and ship franchises where he managed the development of retail outlets in multiple states.  Mr. DiPrima has been working in various positions with public traded companies since 1995.  His accomplishments included guiding several companies through the reverse merger process, raising capital and consulting on various mezzanine financings.

Robert Kern is admitted to practice in Nevada, California and the Federal Courts. He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2000, where he was undefeated in intercollegiate competition as captain of the International Law Moot Court team, and helped to found the South Carolina Journal of International Law and Business. In the first case he handled as a student he won a major appeal that redefined South Carolina defamation law, and is still taught in the law school today.

Before opening his own doors, Robert worked for both large and small firms in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and has represented Fortune 500 companies such as Intel, individuals, and everything in between.

Jeff B. Cohen, Esq. received his Juris Doctor from UCLA Law School with an emphasis in business law. Mr. Cohen received his undergraduate degree from The University of California at Berkeley, Haas School of Business. While at UC Berkeley, Mr. Cohen served as President of the Associated Students of the University of California. In 2008, Mr. Cohen was profiled by Variety in its “Dealmakers Impact Report.” Additionally that year, Mr. Cohen was named one of the “Top 35 Entertainment Executives Under 35 Years of Age” by The Hollywood Reporter. In 2012, Law Crossing profiled Mr. Cohen as “Entertainment’s Legal Eagle.”

Mr. Cohen regularly authors articles regarding business, technology, entertainment and legal matters for media outlets including The Huffington Post, CNBC, Backstage and Lawyerist. Additionally, Mr. Cohen is proud to serve on the Board of Advisors for educational gaming non-profit GameDesk and social media consulting firm Via Marketing. He also has the dubious distinction of being a former child actor, appearing most notably in the Richard Donner/Steven Spielberg film The Goonies, but please don’t hold that against him.

Ita Cowan Nagy, Esq. earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law after graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Los Angeles. Before joining Cohen Gardner LLP, Ms. Nagy clerked at NBC Universal, CMT and the law firm of Doniger/Burroughs. As an undergraduate, she served as an Executive Producer for UCLA Student Media, President of the UCLA Student Alumni Association, and was a proud member of the UCLA Chorale.

She was also the recipient of the Gold Shield Alumni Scholarship, the Chancellor’s Service Award and the Women for Change Leadership Award. At law school, Ms. Nagy was a member of the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology, peer advisor for international LL.M. students, and chaired the UVA Student Bar Association Programming Committee over multiple terms. She is originally from Los Angeles, California.
